Return to 1313 “Mockingbird Lane.”

The Munsters: "Mockingbird Lane."

The first family of fright returns to television just less green, more ghoulish and just as quirky (2012’s “Mockingbird Lane” on left and 1964’s “The Munsters” on right).

Fans of the Munsters can return to 1313 Mockingbird Lane once again.

The classic sitcom which first aired on CBS in the 1960s is getting reboot or a “re-imagining” as Jerry O’ Connell who steps into the shoes of Herman Muster calls it.

As of right now it is airing as a Halloween-special for the peacock network.

However if the ratings are good it could become a regular series and creator, Bryan Fuller, says he still has hope for it.

“The thing that gives me a lot of hope is that first, I think show is wonderful, I think the cast is great. But also that NBC is putting it on the air. They don’t have to do that,” said Fuller.

The pilot, bearing the name of the Munsters’ address in the original series, still centers around goofy but loveable Herman Munster, his vampire wife Lily and her blood-sucking dad also known as Count Dracula.

Rounding out the Munster clan is, abnormally normal niece, Marilyn and son Eddie who is going through a monstrous transition as he hits puberty.

O’ Connell said he thinks fans will find homage in the new and folks who have never met any incarnation of the clan will find it fun too.

“While it is an homage to the original, I think it’s going to be very enjoyable to the people who don’t know the original,” said O’Connell.

This will be the third time (in series form) viewers take a trip to ‘1313.’

The first with the original series in 1964 and the second in 1987 with the syndicated sitcom, The Munsters Today.

The latter ran for three seasons which is one more longer than the original.

The Munsters also made a theatrical and several made-for television film appearances.

Unlike previous versions this will be a full hour of fright and be much darker in tone compared to the original–from Eddie learning about his werewolf power to Herman’s heart going on the fritz and needing a new one.

The pilot will air tonight (Friday, October 26th) at 8/7c on NBC.

Ev Opens Up To Nightline.

“You have to walk away because I have to protect myself.”

–Evelyn Lozada

Evelyn Lozada the star of Basketball Wives, who recently filed for divorce from her husband of six-weeks Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson, is opening up for the first time to ABC’s Nightline about the domestic violence incident that changed her life.

Watch the video below.

Lozada and Johnson met on Twitter and their world-wind romance was told in front of the cameras on the VH1 series Basketball Wives.

Now the couple’s divorce comes after the former player for the Dolphins allegedly headbutted her.

Ochocinco & Evelyn Lozada.

From ABCNews:

On Aug. 11, Lozada was taking groceries out of a car that Johnson used to drive to football practice when she said she found a bag in the backseat with a toothbrush holder and a Walgreens receipt for a box of condoms inside. The receipt was dated July 20, she said, three weeks after they were married.

When Johnson came home later that evening, Lozada said she got into his car to confront him about the receipt and threatened to leave him.

“And then the next thing I know, he grabbed me by here [pointing to her head] and he head-butted me,” Lozada said. “I felt blood coming down my face… and I looked at him and I said, ‘You just head-butted me?’ And it just — everything just felt if it was in slow motion.”

Johnson has refuted the incident.

In fact he says that he never headbutted Lozada rather she headbutted him.

The New York native and shoe boutique owner said she still loves Chad but he needs help and that they will never get back together.

“I don’t think any woman should ever have to feel like that or be fearful of her husband.”

After the incident Ochocinco lost his job with the Dolphins and the former couple’s reality series ‘Ev & Ocho’ slated to premiere on September 3rd was canned by VH1.

There will be only one doctor in the house when BET’s sitcom Reed Between The Lines returns for its second season.

The series touted as a modern ‘Cosby Show’ focused on Alex and Carla Reed played by Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Tracee Ellis Ross respectively.

Alex is a stay-at-home dad and online college professor and Carla a psychiatrist.

Together they raise twins from Carla’s previous marriage and one of their own.

Malcolm Jamal-Warner’s TV wife Tracee Ellis Ross announced last Friday that she will not be returning for the sophomore season nor did she explain why she is leaving.

However she hinted there is a possibility of her return somewhere down the line.

2011 Promo For “Reed”

From the L.A. Times:

Ross in a statement said that “Reed Between the Lines” was a show “I believe in and care about” and that there was a “chance” she might return at some point. Loretha Jones, BET’s president of original programming and news, called Ross “an amazing talent,” adding, “We wish her nothing but the best and hope to work with her again in the future.”

Carla will be written out as moving to LA for a “dream job” and wanting the family to join her. However, her husband thinks it would be unfit for the kids to leave their Atlanta home. Leaving Alex to take care of the kids on his own.

Joining the cast in light of Ross’ departure is Michole White, Tony Rock and Charlie Robinson.

White and Rock will play old pals of Alex aiding him in adjusting to a new lifestyle while Robinson will play his dad.

#ConversationStarter: Aaliyah Dana Haughton Revisited.

Eleven years after her death, ‘Baby Girl’ has returned to the music scene and may have a new album in the works.

Actor turned rapper and Aaliyah fan , Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham has hinted at something special coming for months and now he has released her new song ‘Enough Said,’ and is featured on a verse of the track.

Take a listen. Explicit. (Listen to a version with the rap edited out here ►AaliyahAlways)

Mixed reaction is coming from fans.

Some love it, while others say the cussing is over the top and Aaliyah would never laden her music with so much cursing, if any.

Like the tweet above, some think Missy Elliott and Timbaland should work on the album seeing that they knew the ‘Are You That Somebody’ songstress best and Drake did not know her at all.

Aaliyah & Timbaland

Producer Timbaland recently told New York’s Power 105.1:

“I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right.”

In a recent turn of events, Aaliyah’s official twitter account tweeted that Timbaland will work on two tracks for the album. There is still no word on Elliott.

However, while her Twitter account confirms the album, her brother denied it on her official facebook page and followed up with a question to fans about releasing an Aaliyah album.

Only time will tell if an album really happens or not.

Josh’s Note: One qualm with the song—the cursing. Aaliyah’s music was not filled with cursing.

I do not necessarily have problem with Drake appearing on the album or helping produce it. However, if a album is produced. It is also only right to have both her family and those closest to her involved in the project because they are forever hers and she is forever theirs.

Her music was something anyone at any age could listen to whether they were 5 or 80. It was something anyone could relate to be it the beat or the lyrics.

As I told my radio colleague when I first heard the song, out of respect for her and her artistry it would have been smart and best to stay in lane with who she was, who she is.

Aaliyah is a classic R&B artist with a modern feel whose music is timeless.
